Ice sculpture will yield
its fifteen minutes of fame
hot in the city
United we stand
But then when the heat is on
we fall divided
Impermanence chills
Her chiseled exquisiteness
Beauty always fades
Sunrise coming soon
despite his appeals to God
hasn’t got a prayer
Jungle morning finds
Tiger, Tiger burning bright
evaporating
wife just froze him out
took igloo sled and snowballs
poor guy’s in meltdown
A lot of these are funny and clever. Really impressed.
Yeah I had a bit of fun with this one, glad you liked it.
LOL Enjoy it while it lasts! 🙂 Great poem! 🙂
I’m pleased that this tickled you and thank you so much for letting me know because you’ve got me chuckling now! 😀
Great stuff! Love ‘United we stand’ 🙂
Glad you enjoyed this and thanks for your compliment.
You are snow punny Mike!! These images are cool, but the words are just the icing on the puck, or is that pick, wait, my thawts must be frozen… I’ll stop now… Great haikus x
It’ll be a cold day in hell before your thoughts are frozen Megan – they’re hot enough to have the devil himself running for a cold shower. Now where was I – yes, thank you for sashaying through in your customary entertaining style dripping words from your lustrous lickxicon.
Lmao!!! you know how much I adore licking diction! You crack me up Mike! You’re a wonderful wizard of words. x
*facepalm*
*blows kisses*
beautiful images and nice haikus to go with them!
So pleased that you enjoyed the combinations Tiny.
Beautiful photos and lovely Haiku’s Mike! 🙂
Lots of love
Patty
Thanks Patty – I’m pleased that you’re pleased 🙂
What a delightfully fully humourous series of haikus designed to melt one’s heart. 😀
Very punny DVH, I’m pleased your visit was worthwhile – many thanks.
‘Wife froze him out’
I wonder why guys think that–it’s not what wives are set out to.
Yet, all that ice must be a refreshing thought for you now;))
Now that you mention it, I only got one side of that particular story…
Awesome! Howls. Especially the last one.
It gives me pleasure to crack a smile somewhere else on the planet marcus – many thanks.
That you did Sir Mike…that you did, awhooooo!
Very nice! Your photos work perfectly with your prose.
Thank you for this lovely compliment – glad you enjoyed.
Pretty incredible.
I thank you kindly.
This post is so refreshing and inventive 🙂 Fantastic photos and poetry. Loved it 🙂
So glad this resonated with you – many thanks.
Yes, it did 😉
Great photos and I liked the Haiku you did with the photos. Some humorous, too. 🙂 Take care. Sincerely, Connie Webb
Thanks Connie – glad you enjoyed.
Great series of haiku and I loved the accompanying ice sculptures. Where was the ice event? In Auckland we have an ice bar complete with table hockey made out of ice (very hard to pick the ice puck up from the ice floor when it drops).
I thank you. The photos are from Harbin, China where they do quite a lot of this apparently. I’ve heard of the phenomena of Ice Bars and have made it a life ambition to avoid them.
Ha! I don’t blame you – it was certainly a one off experience for me (and bloody expensive).
Very pretty words and pictures. If only the weathermen on TV could be so efficient and evocative with their message…
Thanks Jackie, I suspected that this series would resonate with North American readers.
All so well done, Mike. My favorite is the last one though, such a sense of humor. Love it!
Thank you and between you and me Audrey I totally agree with you (;
You do?! 😀 Great minds and all that… 😉
Loved this 🙂
Glad it worked for you. And thank you.
Very nice!
I greatly appreciate your saying so Kev. Thanks.
🙂
Magnificent photos. I love ice sculptures.
Pleased that you liked them Ms. Vee – thanks.
You’re most welcome Mike. 🙂
This is terrific!
Glad you thought so Holly – many thanks.
Stellar work, Mike. I especially like the double entendre of a praying mantis not having a prayer! Subtle!
Ron
Thanks very much Ron and by its very nature the praying mantis was easy prey.
